The Legend of the Legendary heroes is a fantasy anime set in the Empire of Roland, which is beset from all sides by conflicting empires struggling for power. Originally aired in Japan in 2010, the dubbed anime version has been released by Funimation in the United States. This dramatic fantasy anime is based on a series of novels of the same name.The original novel series was released starting in 2002, and has led to a number of spin-off series. The wide cast of characters leads to varied adventures with a healthy dose of action and comedy. Sion, the king of Roland who is only half-noble and suffers prejudice from his fully noble siblings Lucile, Ferris's brother, who killed their parent and took over their clan Milk, who is a re-incarnation of The Goddess and has a romantic history with Ryner. There are numerous other characters in the series- royals, military personnel, mages, and foes of all kinds. Although Ferris thought Ryner was immature, they eventually develop a deep friendship. Ferris is the last of the three main heroes within the anime, and she is constantly eating dongo, beating up Ryner, and slaying enemies with her excellent sword skills. To achieve this Sion overworked, worries and stresses much more than he needs to about everything. A childhood friend of his, Sion, wishes for a world of Pearce without spilling an once of blood. Ryner struggles with the fact he usually ends up killing anyone he gets close to, and also the fact as bearer of the Alpha Stigma, he is seen as a monster. The mage is the main protagonist, Ryner Lute, who is the bearer of the Alpha Stigma, a mark on the eyes which can take control of it's user forcing them to destroy or "erase" everything until they can gain control again. Also known as The Legend of the Legendary heroes, follows three main characters: A dongo-obsessed female, a peace-crazy half noble, and a lazy nap-taking mage.
